Health and benefits
Omega-3 EPA and DHA are the fundamental constituents of cell membranes and precursors of a class of cellular messengers called eicosanoids, which play a crucial role in the regulation of many physiological functions.
EPA and DHA: contribute to the normal function of the heart with a daily intake of 250 mg* (1 softgel of Cardiol® Forte).
Artichoke dry extract: powder extract obtained from artichoke leaves Cynara cardunculus L. standardized to 10% in chlorogenic acid and derivatives (biophenols) and to 2% in luteolin 7-glucoside and derivatives (flavonoids). The biophenols contained
in the artichoke extract have cholagogue, choleretic and hepatoprotective activity.
Furthermore, flavonoids inhibit cholesterol biosynthesis and protect LDL from oxidative damage.
Red Yeast Rice: obtained from the fermentation of Rice (Oryza sativa L.) with Monascus purpureus, red yeast rice contains a group of bioactive substances known as monacolins.
Olive Polyphenols (hydroxytyrosol): polyphenols include a very large group of secondary metabolites derived from plants with different biological activities. The polyphenols mainly present in olive fruits and leaves are phenolic acids such as hydroxytyrosol and its derivatives such as oleuropein. Numerous in vivo and in vitro studies have demonstrated its antioxidant activity (protection of LDL from oxidative damage); it has also been shown that olive polyphenols can penetrate cells and their absorption is dose-dependent, their antioxidant activity already manifests itself in very small doses (≥ 5 mg). The olive extract present in Cardiol® Forte provides 5 mg/softgel of hydroxytyrosol.
Coenzyme Q10: is an oxidative reduction agent that acts in the mitochondrial energy productive chain and is essential for the optimization of the production of cellular energy (in the form of adenosine triphosphate – ATP). Scientific studies have shown that is advisable to take coenzyme Q10 during the supplementation with monacolins from red yeast rice.
Vitamin E: contributes to the protection of cells from oxidative stress by being a free radical scavenger*.
Folic Acid: also called vitamin B9, is an essential component for numerous reactions that occur in our bodies. It contributes to the homocysteine metabolism*.
Piperine: increases the bioavailability of all nutrients especially of coenzyme Q10.
