Omega-3 DHA and EPA
They are essential components of cell membranes and precursors of a class of cellular messengers known as eicosanoids, involved in the regulation of numerous physiological functions. DHA represents the primary omega-3 fatty acid found in retinal photoreceptors and nervous system structures. Functionally, it plays a determining role in mediating the biochemical processes that allow signal transmission between neurons.
Clinical studies have shown that a deficiency of DHA in the diet may be associated with a reduction in dopamine levels in the brain and its receptors, with possible repercussions on *attention and learning ability.
A daily intake of 250 mg of DHA (equivalent to 1 vial of VitaDHA) contributes to maintaining normal brain function and *vision.
